Ignited Spring Trap: Version 2

For this project, I'm using paint.net. The video shows my image compositing workflow.

I'm working on my 3D level design. Here is the first walkthrough. I'm focusing on the geometry and advanced lighting.

3D modeling in Blender is a lot of fun. I will be working on Blender tutorials. Here are two basic ones:

This is a model I made based on the Friday 13th movies. I made my own character model of the Jason character from the movie. I used four textures: a hockey mask, a machete and a Jason Voorhees figure model texture. For the body: a nightmare foxy texture and for the boots. I also used a forest texture for the background. This project took me only one day to complete and it is a model for intermediate Blender modelers. I used only 13 spheres (get it because its a Friday 13TH model LOL)  and one cube and one plane. I had some problems with UV mapping but I managed to fix it.

How I made the model:
First I started by making the mask. I cut a sphere in half and then scaled in from the right view and then a little bit on the x axis to make it a bit more narrow. Then I unwrapped it on the UV map. I used a Jason Voorhees mask texture and put it on the UV map. Then I fitted the mask outline with the image of the mask. Next, I used another sphere to make the body, arms and leg. I used another texture. Then I put all the parts together and rendered it.

Modeling Interactive Games in Blender

Blender can be used as a 3D game engine. Here is my Kiryu (Godzilla) project:

Modeling in Gimp

This is a small (under construction) game I'm making in Blender 3D modeling tool based on the Godzilla 2000 movies using the robot Kiryu (aka Mecha Godzilla 3).

I'm working on a set of different models situated in the same theme based on animatronic animals from the FNAF 1,2,3,4 games.

Software used: Blender, Gimp

I recently rendered a simple character animation in Blender:

Texturing for Minecraft

Last several weeks I have been working on designing new content for Minecraft mods. My brother Vincent is working on Java programming for embedding new content in the game. In the screenshot below I developed textures for new weapons, characters and environments.

I have been using Linux Mint OS and Gimp for developing the above textures. The process of developing textures is a bit difficult and follows typical UV mapping approach. Basically, the process involves working with flat materials that are later applied to 3D objects.
